A very unique and rare species of luffa, Cluster Ridge Luffa was originally grown in Ghana, India. This trellising luffa produces large amounts of mini luffas that can be anywhere from 1-3 inches thick. The young fruits are renowned for their flavor in soups and stir fries in India, and if the fruits are left to mature they grow several inches longer. Those mature fruits can then be dried and used as sponges. I personally recommend everyone grows at least one luffa plant wherever they live for the amazing sponges alone.
