Desert Globemallow is a perennial desert subshrub with a woody base and many stems. It has grey-green, slightly fuzzy leaves, usually with three lobes, and large, showy flowers that appear in shades of orange, apricot, pink, red-orange or lavender depending on the variety. It blooms most after rainfall, often in early spring, and is a favorite in dry, rocky gardens and wildflower landscapes.

  • •Highly attractive to bees, butterflies, and many desert pollinators—flowers feed them when lots of other plants are still dormant.

•Tolerates disturbance and drought well, making it great for restoration projects, roadsides, washes, rocky slopes, and burned areas.

•Serves as forage and habitat: wildlife like desert tortoise, quail, and small mammals use it for food and cover.
