Field Garlic is a somewhat common native allium species of the NorthEast; though the nutrient density of field garlic greens & bulbs are far superior to any store-bought vegetable. Not only is every part of Field Garlic edible, but it thrives in moist, partially shaded to full-sun soils; making it a perfect edible edition to almost any landscape. The plant grows as individual bulbs and small clumps depending on the compaction of the soil; and the leaves transform into hollow 12-18 in tall stalks showcasing brilliant purple flowers followed by clusters of red-purple bulbils (new mini bulbs) that will spread more plants the following season. The longer you wait to harvest, the bigger & more numerous the bulbs will be.
