Another one of my favorite passive food crops, Mashua is a vigorous climbing tuber plant with trailing vines, soft round leaves, and striking orange, red, or yellow flowers that resemble wild nasturtiums. It grows as a spreading groundcover and climber at the same time, weaving through other plants while forming dense living cover across the soil surface. It grows easily, spreads naturally, and creates food, ground cover, and system structure with very little maintenance.
