Tall and pollinator-friendly, Trumpetweed is a native perennial that thrives in sunny, moist conditions. In late summer, it bursts into clouds of soft pink-to-purple blooms that attract butterflies, bees, and other beneficial insects. It grows tall and full, making it perfect along ponds, in garden beds, or in naturalized landscapes. It adds both beauty and ecological value to any property.
Trumpetweed, or Hollow Jo Pye Weed (Eutrochium purpureum)
A favorite of monarch butterflies, swallowtails, and native bees. Provides late-season nectar when other flowers are fading, helping sustain migrating species.
Historically known as “gravel root,” Eutrochium purpureum was used by Indigenous peoples and early settlers as a gentle diuretic to support kidney and urinary tract health, and to help ease kidney stones and urinary discomforts. (For informational purposes only; not intended as medical advice.)
